Why was Swami Vivekananda a non-vegetarian even though he was a monk?

The desire to eat fish and meat disappears when pure sattvikta develops;  It is a sign of moving towards self. "- Swami Vivekananda

It is true that Swami Vivekananda was from Bengali Kayastha family and used to eat meat and fish.  Vivekananda ji did not oppose the carnivore.  His guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa also used to eat fish.

I did not know in my school time that Swamiji was a non-vegetarian.  When I came to know later, I felt very strange and to a lesser extent, hatred began to develop in my mind for Swamiji.  The reason was that I am from a hardcore vegetarian family.

A few years later, while surfing the internet, I read Vivekananda's Chicago speech which is in English.  After reading this I was very impressed and again the trend towards Vivekananda increased.  Then I read Vivekananda's speeches here and there.  Today it is also available on Wikipedia.  Anyone can read for free

Swamiji's life was without hypocrisy.  He believed that it is not wrong if mankind needs to eat meat to live.  The wrong thing is to carry along with all kinds of hypocrisy in search of truth.  One must have the ability to accept the truth in order to discover the truth.  Swami Vivekananda believed that the attainment of God does not depend on what he eats but on what measures he takes to find God. That is why Swami Vivekananda ji hypocrisy  And always used to stay away from the manner and advised to stay, due to which people in their foreign countries grew in very large amounts, denying their hypocrisy and refusing to eat any particular type of food and focusing on deeds and with  At the same time, telling the easy path of attainment of God, etc., makes things special to Vivekananda ji. In the early days, Swami Vivekananda used to consume meat but when he got knowledge, he gave up meat but he did not give any of his disciples.  Said that you should renounce the non-vegetarian for the attainment of God or for the attainment of knowledge. He had given people complete exemption for food, that he can eat vegetarian food or can eat non-vegetarian food. That is the reason.  That in the present time, more than the hypocritical Baba is more like  Everybody used to do Vivekananda ji, even it is said that many Muslim people also respected Vivekananda very much.

Vivekananda ji was very busy in his life, he made a comparative interpretation of all philosophies for Western countries and introduced them to Hindu philosophy.  Owing to the busyness, Swamiji used to eat whatever he could get.

Meditation requires energy.  In the initial phase meditation consumes a lot of energy.  This may also be the reason that Swamiji did not oppose the carnivore.
